Tyler was working out the other day with Wii Fit.
For Christmas, Chase and I got Tyler one of those fleece blankets that you cut and make fringes all around it. I thought it would be good for Tyler to try to cut and tie all of the ends. He had a great time cutting all of the fringes…

It took us a couple of days to get it done, but he was really proud of himself for cutting all of the fringes! Here he is with the finished product:

And I just thought this picture was funny… while he was cutting he was watching The Brave Little Toaster. If you can see the tv in the background, all of the appliances are hiding behind the couch…. it looks like Tyler thought he’d duck and hide like them. (That air conditioner was pretty scary…)

Yes, Tyler has been at our house for a few days. Here are some of the things we did.
When he first got there, we decided to take down our Christmas tree. It is always so much work, but it was fun to have him there. He really wanted to help out, so he decided to vacuum.

He also sat and watched Mayah play on the floor while he watched TV. I was in the other room and I could hear him talking to Mayah. It is very sweet.

We went to Casa Mia. Here is what I could see across the table. Silly thing, they both already knew what they were getting, but still had to look at the menu.

I may have more pictures later, but I thought I’d add this now.

Hanging out with Kyle….brothers….

Trying to get a picture with Wiley (who was not very cooperative!)

Tyler thought dad was trying to help… little did he know that dad was playing a trick on him!

Oh, that gave Tyler an idea!

Uncle Tyler got a present from Mayah!

I just feel so blessed to have Tyler in my life. I enjoy him so much. I am a part of a mom forum where there are many different boards based on different topics. One of the boards I am on is the Dwon Syndrome board. There are many young mothers on there who are expecting and have been told they will be having a child with Down Syndrome. (Sometimes this is the truth, sometimes it isn’t….waiting til birth is definitely the best way to know if the tests are accurate or not)… many of the moms are so concerned or heartbroken with the news. I am always so quick to go on and let them know it isn’t a terrible thing to have a child with Down Syndrome in the family, coming from a big sister. Truly, I believe this! He is such a blessing and I can’t imagine my life without him! Yes, it is different to have him in the family, sometimes hard, sometimes frustrating, but always a blessing in the end! I am thankful for him. I am thankful that Mayah will grow up with him as an uncle. He is so fun, and keeps us all young and light-hearted!
Here are a few recent pics of him with Mayah and I!
On the trip in Oregon… a happy moment in the car!

Well, today, Mayah and I rode to Oregon with Tyler and my parents. It was fun to spend time with them.
Mayah has not been the best passenger in the car lately. I’m not sure what the deal is, but she screams a lot on longer car trips lately.
Here was Tyler’s recent solution to the noise level:

He was using dad’s headphones with his dvd player, but discovered that they still cancelled out enough of the noise that it was worth it to put them on even if he wasn’t listening to anything. PS. Note Mayah’s face…mid-scream! Ha ha!
When we got to the hotel room, Mayah and him were back to normal, hanging out. Mayah enjoyed watching a minute of tv with him… I though this was cute:

Little buddies.

This is Tyler as we’re going through the Starbucks drive-thru… Mayah was crying…

I’m surprised he’s smiling because he wasn’t doing this to be cute. And he wasn’t exactly happy at the time.
And this was just an extra pair of pants in the car… not the ones he was wearing at the time.

I got to go to therapy on Monday with Tyler, Mom, and Becca. Mayah and I enjoy the trip and the time with family
.
Tyler, on the other hand, does not enjoy the loudness of Mayah’s crying on the way there! Becca got some better pics of some of his other solutions to not hearing Mayah on her camera, hopefully she’ll share too.

Lunch is always fun at Red Robin!

And some pictures from therapy…

Tyler was ‘with me’ as we walked to a store downtown Olympia. I stopped and snapped a picture of him…

Ok, I have to tell a funny story on Tyler. He got a little confused when they released the kids for kids church so he stayed with us. they have changed the time they release the kids and he doesn’t take to change easily.
He finally realized he could but as he was headed out the door, he was asked to help take the offering. He stood happily with ushers waiting for time to go up front. He does the job well but as soon as he gets to the back of the church, will look at me for permission to head upstairs. Well, today I felt I should follow. When I got out of the sanctuary, I could see him running for all he was worth but as he was running up the stairs, he was pulling something out of his pocket. Ahhh, the spiderman mask! He was also taking off his glasses so his intent was to run into the kids room with class in progress…tada! Spiderman!
I was screaming at him to stop, to no avail. When I got upstairs and around the corner, he was gone but the mask was laying on the table outside the classroom! Grrrrrrrrrrr. Sadly, it took me quite awhile to get my breath back after all that.
This picture was taken at the birthday party we went to after church as I wasn’t in the picture-taking mood during the chase.
A day in the life….
